"Tyler Dumont is one of the most compelling, creative and exciting artists to take to a microphone, studio, or stage. I am a huge admirer of her auditory alchemy.
Encouraging anyone with a pulse and ears to experience her musical vibrancy”

Singer-songwriter, TYLER DUMONT, opens eyes and ears with her music. The Miami-born, New York-bred artist combines velvety vocals and rhythmic flow with beats that wrap themselves around you and don’t let go. She hits hard with real-talk, street-level lyrics about life, love, and lust.
On her project, Nomadic Behavior, Tyler released the single, “Don’t Mean It,” produced by SwanQo and Josh X, whose work with Cardi B, Swizz Beatz, and DJ Khaled, rank them among the hottest producers today. The song topped both the Urban/AC and billboard charts. Tyler did the unexpected, releasing an animated video for the second song, “Phone,” a prequel to “Don’t mean it.” Her latest single “You,” the sequel, follows the same storyline, but returns to live-action and takes an unexpected turn. Actor Donovan Christie Jr. reprises his role as her love interest, but audiences discover there’s someone else in the picture now! “Since people connected to the visuals in ‘Don’t Mean It,’ we decided to follow the dramatic storyline of ‘You’ and turn the videos into a mini-series of sorts,” Tyler explains.
A descendant of Haitian-French, Puerto-Rican, and Colombian ancestry, Tyler was influenced by her parents’ music collection of James Brown, Bob Marley, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Isaac Hayes. She was chosen out of 60,000 hopefuls, appearing as a finalist on the first season of MTV’s “Making of the Band,” a competition for young vocalists to earn a contract with P. Diddy. She left the competition, however, to be with her mother until her untimely passing from cancer.
Tyler relocated to New York, taking charge of her solo career. In January of 2018, Tyler launched her own independent label, Tyler Dumont Productions. She also serves as Executive Producer of her docu-bio film, A Train of Thought. The footage shares an intimate portrait of her life, illuminating the everyday realities for women in the pursuit of art.
“I don’t care to be a gimmick,” Tyler says. “I’ve always looked up to artists like Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, and Sade and have found authenticity and resonance in their music, something I’d like to inherit in my own body of work. I’ve always been that sensual, ambient and slow-tempo kind of artist. That’s Tyler – that’s really me.”
